Description

Yakuza revenge movie with wandering yakuza gambler Fujiko (Kyoko Enami) first out to kill the man she once loved and then slicing through the yakuza who betrayed her lover Tatsumi (Hiroki Matsukata).

Kyoko Enami was a film biz veteran by the time she was tapped by Daiei to headline A Woman’s Gamble in 1966, making her one of the first female stars in the Wandering Gambler genre. When Daiei switched gears to compete with Toho in the Kaiju (giant monster) market, Toei scooped up the established star to basically continue in the vein of their own Red Peony Gambler series while taking advantage of the fanbase and similar name of Enami’s prior series. While not a Pinky Violence film in the strictest sense, this helped to test the waters for Reiko Ike‘s Sex & Fury a year later.
