Using cardboard, acrylic, spray paint, and paper, Nonamey has created a body of work varying from sculpture, painting, and installation art.

Growing up in the southwest, they were inspired early on by the relics of Americana: motels with shattered neon, vacant houses, train cars, and found roadside objects. These experiences translate into the work they create today from the banks of the Willamette River.

STREET VIEW is Nonamey’s 2021 solo exhibition at Gallery 30 South in Pasadena, CA, opening 12.04.21.

I’m inspired by streets and sidewalks because there’s always art. There’s a specific kind of beauty in trash piles, discarded machines, torn posters, tagged doorways, and parking signs. They all tell a story. Humans leave their mark on everything; these are the things that keep me curious. With STREET VIEW, I set out to capture that which inspires me most.

Working primarily in recycled and found materials, I want to utilize what has been left behind and continue their narrative. Building something anew.” -Nonamey
