Nicoletta Ceccoli is an award-winning children’s book illustrator from Italy whose work has appeared in publications by Random House, Mondadori, Simon and Shuster, Barefoot Books, Greem Press, Fabbri, Arka, Fatatrac, Europacorp, Macy’s, Diesel, Houghton Mifflin, Henry Holt, Mc Cann Lowe, United Airlines, and Vogue, among others.

This hand-painted master-study of her 2007 artwork, Treegirl, was done by an anonymous street painter from Beijing’s 798 Dashanzi Art District in 2008. The craftsmanship and high-level mimicry of Chinese factory painters is renown worldwide, but such a focus on contemporary pop surrealism is incredibly rare. One could scarcely obtain an edition print for the price of this unique painting.
