Kembra Pfahler: Interdisciplinary Work

Kembra Pfahler: Interdisciplinary Work

Sunday, February 24th, 2–6PM
One Day Only!

Performance Art Masterclass with a Legend.

KEMBRA PFAHLER of the Legendary VOLUPTUOUS HORROR OF KAREN BLACK is in town for a One-Day-Only, extensive course in music and performance and drawing as part of INTERDISCIPLINARY WORK, a class on Availabilism, Anti-Naturalism, and Gothletics.

ART CAN’T BE TAUGHT, IT MUST BE SHARED!

Attendees will receive individual consultation, a portrait, a lovely paper collectible, and tools to enable your own work with more muscle. This class was created because there seemed to be a deficit of production skill exchange–especially in the performance art sphere.

Kembra has taught this class in Russia, Denmark, the UK, at Columbia University in NYC, and now here in Pasadena, CA. The fee is $80.00.

A limited number of grants are available to help subsidize the course for starving artists. Contact gallery director Matt Kennedy at Gallery 30 South for more details. (323)547-3227 or info@gallery30south.com

Bring what you will need to create your own art. Pencils, paper, paint, brushes, a drawing surface, beverages, etc.

There will be seating for the first 20 attendees only, and we will cap attendance at 30.

This is a very affordable masterclass from one of the pioneers of modern performance art in a very intimate environment. It is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to learn the tools of the trade from a legend.

Here is real testimony from students who have taken Kembra’s class at Columbia University:

“Kembra is an incredibly invested and committed professor. Through this class she gives you the tools to build a real practice in performance and other artistic mediums. There is a really special and rare energy that this class provides. It also gave me a valuable network and community of other artists to work with and continue to learn from. It truly changed my life.”

“Kembra encouraged us as a class to explore the ways in which performance could be incorporated honestly and effectively into our own unique art practices, inviting guest artists to speak and sharing her own experience as a working artist”

Because of the short window for this event, we are not offering refunds of any kind.
